Ted Sabety serves as Of Counsel to HBA for Intellectual Property matters. Mr. Sabety’s practice encompasses intellectual property counseling, transactions and litigation, as well as advising on trademarks, copyrights and patents for a range of clients in digital media and technology, electronics, entertainment and fashion.

Mr. Sabety’s legal career started at Paul, Weiss, Rifkin, Wharton and Garrison, LLP, where he was an Associate in the Internet, Media and Technology Group. Additionally, Mr. Sabety was a chip design engineer with Hewlett-Packard, Co. in Silicon Valley.

Mr. Sabety recently won an international patent lawsuit on summary judgement: Yangaroo v. Destiny, 09-C-0462 (E.D. Wi., June 8, 2010), which was affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals,  Federal Circuit.  Mr. Sabety has published widely in the field of Intellectual Property, including an article on computer program copyright cited by Microsoft in its litigation against Sun Microsystems.

Mr. Sabety is admitted to practice in the state of New York, Federal District Court; Southern District of New york, Federal District Court; and Eastern District of Wisconsin, Federal Court of Appeals and Federal Circuit. He is also a registered patent attorney.
