HBA supports the Red Sox Foundation and participates in the Run Home to Base Charity 9k run.

The Home Base Program is a philanthropic partnership between the Red Sox Foundation and Massachusetts General Hospital, dedicated to improving the lives of New England servicemen and women returning from Iraq and Afghanistan with combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury through clinical care, innovative research, education, family support and community outreach.

The Home Base Program supports research of combat stress disorders and/or traumatic brain injury with the goal of identifying better treatments. Since the number of professionals specifically trained to diagnose and treat these injuries is inadequate to handle the growing demand, the Home Base Program also offers opportunities for health care professionals from New England and beyond to increase their understanding of how to help veterans. Bringing together related efforts in clinical care, family support, education and research under a synergistic and cohesive program will advance the care and treatment of our veterans.

HBA has been a member of the Business Services Network of the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA www.cfda.com) for several years. The Network is a community of for-profit businesses, both in the fashion industry and outside of it, which proves tangible value to CFDA members. The purpose of the Network is to create strategic access, value and opportunity for new business development with the shared vision of supporting CFDA members and their businesses.

HBA dedicates pro-bono legal time to CFDA members as well as participating in benefits for this philanthropic organization. Through its association with Fashion’s Night Out, Fashion Targets Breast Cancer, CFDA-Vogue Initiative (benefiting services, advocacy and housing programs for persons living with HIV/AIDS), Fashion for Hatti and others, the CFDA is an active supporter of many programs supporting not only fashion designers.

HBA is a strong supporter of The Kitchen (www.thekitchen.org), a non-profit, interdisciplinary organization that provides innovative artists working in media, literary, and performing arts with exhibition and performance opportunities to create and present new work.

Founded in 1971, The Kitchen helped launch the careers of many artists who, arguably, define the American avant-garde, including Vito Acconci, Kiki Smith, Charles Atlas, Lucinda Childs, Bill T. Jones, Laurie Anderson, Philip Glass, and Meredith Monk. Internationally recognized for its commitment to experimental work, The Kitchen continues to provide instrumental support for the early development of the current generation of artists.

HBA is proud to provide pro-bono legal services to this acclaimed arts institution.

HBA supports Day One (www.dayoneny.org), the only organization in New York City solely devoted to the issue of teen dating violence. In response to the overlooked, underreported and destructive impact of Youth dating abuse, Day One listens and works alongside young people. Through free and confidential supportive services, legal assistance, community programs and preventative education, Day One helps young people recognize the warning signs of abusive relationships, so that they can make healthier choices from day one of dating. To date, they have trained more than 5,000 adults and assisted or educated over 25,000 young people

HBA provides pro-bono legal services to Raymond James Courier’s Kids (www.rjck.com), a non-profit organization started by tennis great Jim Courier, dedicated to providing opportunities and positive life alternatives to “at-risk” children.

The organization supports efforts such as saving The Tennis Foundation of St. Petersburg, an inner-city tennis facility, from being torn down and refurbishing the courts for use by the local youth.
